When you think about the fact that Jesus is the kind of shepherd that leaves 99 safe and healthy sheep for the 1 lost sheep we often forget one thing:

We are called to do the same.

It is true that Christians tend to get MORE comfortable with the 99 sheep who are fine rather than get uncomfortable with the 1 who is lost. And so we gather in our herds to bleat and eat, never looking up to see who isn’t here yet. Who needs the Savior?

But to be like Jesus is to constantly heed his call out of your comfort zone and head to the unknown of people who don’t know the love of God.

This Sunday, I’m calling our church to do the same. I pray your heart will be opened to learn about the radical nature of Christ that gives everything for those who do not yet have a relationship with the Lord.

Then, get ready . . . we are going to start a series looking at the Prodigal Son. I’m really excited to share some awesome things from this story. See you there.
