S5•E01 | Your Health Is Still in Your Hands, Government’s Selective Control Over Your Life, & Where Is Afghanistan in the Bible?

About This Project

The news is crazy. The news is big. The United States has just lost its longest war. We are also going to get into the topic of your health. And lastly, we are going to talk about Afghanistan, the Middle East, and its relationship in our Bible.

Obvious News: Eating junk food will kill you. In Most Cases Your Health is in Your Hands. It’s a simple fact friends– take responsibility for your body so the government does not have to be responsible for you!

The Biden Effect, A Deep End Commentary: American’s decline is pretty evident now. The results of the last national election have bolstered the Chinese government to continue their ascendancy on the world stage. Now with the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal, it would seem that our Country has taken another step back while China has taken another step forward into world dominance.

Where are we in world history? The Bible has the answer! There’s a reason why Afghanistan is called “The Graveyard of Empires”. Afghanistan is a little nation in the middle east which no one has been able to rule. Why? It all goes back to the promises of God to Hagar, servant of Sarai (Sara and Abraham), her son Ishmael and the number 12.

 

Key Verse: 1 Timothy 2:1-2 First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.

 

Theme:  Pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters and our Leaders

 

Scriptures Studied: Genesis 16:4-12; Genesis 17:20; Galatians 4:23-25; Galatians 4:28-31; Galatians 5:1; Galatians 5:13; 1 Timothy 2:1-2

  • Isaac represents the free, unmerited gift of salvation which brings us into community with God.

Recognize the Following:

  1. We need to recognize our spiritual life in light of Paul’s reference to the sons of Abraham in Galatians 4.
  2. Isaacs birth had to be miraculous because to be a Christian is a miraculous birth.  When you come to faith in Christ Jesus you are born again– not into a “do better religion”, but into a brand new person of faith.
