About This Project

📖 Kingdom Come Part 8: The Light That Breaks Through | Matthew 4:12–17 “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”

Why would Jesus begin His ministry in a place marked by failure, compromise, and spiritual darkness? Because that’s exactly where the Light of the World shines brightest. In this episode of Kingdom Come, Pastor Tim Hatch dives into Matthew 4:12–17 and uncovers the powerful reasons Jesus chose Galilee—a forgotten, ethnically mixed region often dismissed by religious leaders—to launch His public ministry. This isn’t just a geographical footnote—it’s a profound statement about the grace of God, the heart of Christ for the outsider, and the invitation of the Kingdom to every one of us     🔑 Application for Today:
  • Are you in a place of darkness, regret, or spiritual dryness? Jesus wants to meet you there.
  • Do you feel like your past makes you unusable by God? This passage proves the opposite.
  • Are you disconnected from those who need the Gospel most? Jesus’ example calls us to engage the world without compromise—just as He did.
Whether you’re feeling far from God, wrestling with your past, or wondering how God could use you—this episode will remind you that the Kingdom begins right where you are.     🎧 Listen now and subscribe so you never miss a chapter in this life-changing journey through the Gospel of Matthew.

📖 Key Takeaways:

    1. Galilee: The Unlikely Starting Point
Galilee was more than just a backdrop—it was a region known for compromise. Populated by Gentiles and rejected by the religious elite, it was considered spiritually “unclean.” Yet, this is exactly where Isaiah 9:1–2 said the light would shine. Jesus’ choice fulfilled prophecy and revealed God’s heart for the outsider.
    1. God’s Heart for the Nations
From the beginning, God’s plan was never limited to Israel—it was through Israel that all nations would be blessed (Genesis 12:3). Jesus’ presence in Galilee—along a major international trade route—symbolized His mission to reach all people, not just the religious insiders.
    1. Repentance: The Front Door to the Kingdom
Jesus begins His message with the same word John the Baptist used: Repent. But repentance is more than remorse—it’s a radical reorientation of how we think and live. True repentance is a turning from sin and a turning toward the light of Christ (Romans 12:2, Acts 3:19).
    1. Your Past Doesn’t Disqualify You
Jesus began His ministry in a land known for failure. Why? Because failure doesn’t cancel God’s favor. Just as He chose a broken place to begin His work, He can choose you—right where you are.
