On this podcast we tackle one of the most fundamental realities of life that Scripture talks about on a regular basis. It’s one of the most provable doctrines of Scripture in the world: the Doctrine of Original Sin.

The book of Romans says the problem is you and until you acknowledge that, you are going to forever be reaching for false solutions. You do not need to try harder; you need to surrender.

Romans 5:17 (ESV) For if, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.

The sin of Adam is the sin of passivity. He did not fight against the lies of Satan or lead his family. He watched his world follow the Devil and did nothing. If you are a Christian man you need to step up and lead and feed your home! God has given spiritual authority in the home and the Church to the man.

The woman was deceived because the MAN DID NOT LEAD.
God operates through AUTHORITY and ORDER.
LIKE it or NOT – AUTHORITY is NECESSARY
In Adam’s LACK of TAKING AUTHORITY, AUTHORITY was surrendered to the devil.
God always OUTDOES what sin UNDOES.
The LAW is the spiritual x-ray machine to your brokenness.

What it Meant:

Adam as our “federal head”; Adam as a “type of Jesus”
It obliterates the idea of the original hearers who believed they were ok because they obeyed the Law.
Adam is a picture of what we would have done in his position.

What it Means:

Are you in ADAM or are you in Jesus?
God always OUTDOES what sin UNDOES.
You cannot help being “in Adam,” for this came by your first birth over which you had no control. But you can help staying “in Adam,” for you can experience a second birth—a new birth from above—that will put you “in Christ.” This is why Jesus said, “Ye must be born again” (John 3:7). -Warren W. Wiersbe

The Differences Between Adam and Jesus:

Adam: Disobeyed in a Garden | Jesus: Surrendered in a Garden
Adam: Sought “my will” | Jesus: Declared “not My will”
Adam: Sinned at the “tree” | Jesus: Became sin on the “tree”
Adam: Brought shame and nakedness | Jesus: Bore our shame and nakedness
Adam: Died as a sinner | Jesus” Died FOR sinners
Adam: Followed his bride into sin | Jesus: Leads His Bride into righteousness
Adam: Brought judgement and death | Jesus: Brought Grace and Life

Why It Matters:

ALL HUMANS live with the Effects of Adam’s choice.
Sin and Death are: Imputed, Inherited., Inherent (more and more), Inescapable
ALL ARE CONDEMNED in Adam. ALL WHO RECEIVE CHRIST are forgiven and adopted.
Jesus brings grace and life! The Word of God is Holy Spirit inspired drawing us to see the “types” and the “pictures” so that we look to Jesus. Don’t treat the Bible as some type of manual for being a better person but treat It as the Rescue Letter, the Message of Salvation to everyone in Adam who would turn to Jesus. The real question is, “Who’s your daddy? Are you in Adam or are you in Jesus?”
