THE ROM-COM EFFECT:
‣ Unrealistic Expectations are set up.
‣ Fate, not sacrifice is idolized.
‣ 1st Person story-lines destroy community/
responsibility.
‣ You are NOT enough without the “other”.
‣ The “lover” becomes a god-like fulfillment agent.
THE BIBLE EFFECT ON MARRIAGE:
‣ All are SINNERS = Expectations are down.
‣ Sacrifice is prioritized and NECESSARY (Ephesians 5).
‣ The Bible is God’s story, not YOURS. You are a part of
HIS BODY.
‣ You are ENOUGH IN CHRIST. Marriage does not define
you.
‣ God alone is GOD and filler of all things.
