Do you have advice for new believers? How can I feel closer to God?

I’m new to being a Christian and Waters church; I pray when I get up and when I go to bed and various times throughout the day. I read the Bible daily and listen to worship music throughout my day. I still don’t feel or hear God with me. Am I doing something wrong? I know there’s always more I could be doing, but it feels like He’s not there like everyone says around me.
