Scriptures Studied:

Biblical Parenting:
1. Understands each child is born a FOOL.
Proverbs 22:15 (ESV) Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline
drives it far from him.
Proverbs 29:15 (ESV) a child left to himself brings shame to his mother.
2. Expects the child (no matter who they are) to be submissive and obedient to their authority.
Luke 2:51–52 (ESV) And he went down with them and came to Nazareth and was
submissive to them. And his mother treasured up all these things in her heart. 52 And
Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man.
3. Practices strict and consistent discipline through clearly communicated boundaries and punishments.
Proverbs 13:24 (ESV) Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is
diligent to discipline him.
Proverbs 23:13 (ESV) Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you strike him with a rod,
he will not die.
4. Puts in the effort to teach them about the Lord.
Ephesians 6:4 (ESV) Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in
the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
