About This Project

📖 Building a Life That Lasts:

How should Christians understand Jesus’ famous words “Judge not”?

Jesus’ words “Judge not” are among the most quoted—and most misunderstood—teachings in Scripture. In this Kingdom Come episode, Pastor Tim Hatch leads an in-depth study of Matthew 7:1–27, clarifying that Jesus wasn’t banning all judgment, but calling His followers to humble, self-aware, and prayerful discernment.

📖 Key Takeaways:

  • Judging without condemning: Jesus teaches us to evaluate rightly while avoiding hypocrisy (Matthew 7:1–5).

  • Praying for wisdom: Ask, seek, and knock to gain discernment for tough conversations (Matthew 7:7–11).

  • Discernment in sharing truth: Don’t give what is holy to those who will reject it (Matthew 7:6).

  • The narrow way: Following Jesus is challenging but leads to life (Matthew 7:13–14).

  • Identifying false prophets: Recognize them by their fruits (Matthew 7:15–20).

  • Building on the rock: Obeying Jesus’ words is the only foundation that endures life’s storms (Matthew 7:24–27).

Pastor Tim uses real-life illustrations and clear biblical teaching to show how this passage challenges us to examine our own hearts, exercise wisdom in correction, and build lives rooted in Christ’s truth.   🔑 Application for Today:
  • Examine your own heart first before correcting others.
  • Practice humble, prayerful discernment instead of harsh condemnation.
  • Seek God’s wisdom daily for tough conversations (ask, seek, knock).
  • Be intentional about sharing truth with those open to receive it.
  • Watch out for false teachers by looking at their fruit and character.
  • Build your life on obedience to Jesus’ words, not cultural trends.
  • Remember that following Christ is the narrow but life-giving way.
  • Commit to helping your church grow in holiness and truth, starting with yourself.
