About This Project

New science is out from MIT researchers declaring “that many spaces that have been shut down in fact don’t need to be”… and “can be safely operated even at full capacity”.  During COVID, corporate worship has been shunned in favor of grocery shopping, dining out, or even traveling.  However, staying away from church is playing into the Enemy’s hands. The closer we get to Jesus’ return the more often we need to go to Church. When you get away from the Church you burn out in your spiritual life.  The Church feeds you. The church is your gathering place. It’s time to get back and gather together more than ever before!

The Biden administration is about to introduce widespread Critical Race Theory into the curriculum of the public school system. There are many parallels between the culture created in Islam and the culture of the CRT and Critical Social Justice movement. It is imperative that parents educate themselves on what it is, what the Bible says about it, and how to address it with your children.  The truth is that the activities of the government have been more detrimental to society and particularly the family unit than anything else.

The government has worked hard to become the “father figure” of the family.   However, when you empower the government to become a father, you turn men into boys. Fatherlessness is the real problem of our society and has gravely impacted the black community.

Good ideas that were pulled from the Bible as the basis for governmental programs failed because inevitably when you take the miracles out of the Bible you lose not only the Gospel but also the sense that God can do great things in spite of where you come from–in spite of your lack of privilege.  The government is not your savior.  We need to wake up, repent, and plead the blood of Jesus over our families.

There is a greater problem causing inequity in our Country:  sexual immorality.  Sexual immorality has destroyed nearly every civilization since the dawn of time. It destroys families, women, children, and men. We see this depicted throughout history and in our study of David and the second most famous interaction in his life:  Bathsheba, wife of Uriah. David won every battle except his battle with sexual sin.  If you want to be set free from sexual sin and get power over sexual temptation, turn to the blood of Jesus.

Key Verse: 2 Timothy 2:22

Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts.

Points to Note:

Reminder, the story of Saul & David is Our Story:

  • Saul: [Kingdoms of this world] Self-Centered, Demanding, Disobedient to God, Seeks His Own Glory
  • David: [Kingdom of God]  Other-Centered, Giving/Self-Sacrificing, Obedient to God, Seeks the Glory of God

Kingdom of Saul | Self-Absorbed and Insecure | Passing Away

  • Every moment is about himself
  • Everyone is suspect
  • Everyone is a threat
  • Willing to kill for his kingdom
  • Estranged from everyone he loved
  • On the road to self-destruction

Kingdom of David | Self-Less & Dependent on God | Arriving

  • Wounded by the Lord
  • Made useful to those wounded in the world
  • Contrite, Compassionate, and Hungry for God
  • Made ready to serve others

Symbolism:

  • David’s battle with sexuality immorality (sin) is our battle

Episode Points:

WARNING SIGNS OF SEXUAL TEMPTATION:

  1. Isolation
  2. Idleness
  3. Intentionality
  4. Indifference toward what really matters.
  5. Intense anger over similar offenders.

Recognize the Following:

  1. Truth> it is not anger toward sin that saves us, it is the blood and power of Christ that saves us.
  2. When you take the miracles out of the Bible, you lose the Gospel and the sense that God can do great things in spite of where you come from; in spite of your lack of privilege.
  3. There is a greater problem causing inequity in our country:  sexual immorality.  Sexual immorality has destroyed nearly every civilization since the dawn of time.
  4. In the Scriptures, we are warned more about sexual immorality than almost any other since with the exception of unbelief and pride.
  5. Men are made to fight for the honor of the personhood, wives, and families.  When men become boys the foundations crumble.
  6. Bathsheba is acting as a noble woman following the Law by bathing during her menstrual cycle; it’s David who is the pursuer.
  7. David won every battle except the battle against sexual temptation in 2 Samuel 11. Perhaps the greatest lesson of David’s life is the untold lasting damage that sexual immorality will do to one’s legacy.

Questions to Consider:

  1. How have you treated corporate worship during COVID? Are you attending church regularly?
  2. How have you struggled with sexual temptation?
  3. Do you have a group of people that you can confide in, confess sin, and find support and restoration?
