About This Project

The culmination of perhaps one of the most contentious election seasons we’ve seen has arrived! How should Christians respond to civil government and what is their voting obligation? How can we find rest in the promises of Christ no matter what we see? We discuss those topics and more as we answer over 40 live questions from viewers just like you on topics such as censorship, abortion, guns, LGBTQ, women, and the media.

Key Verse: 1 Timothy 2:1-3 (ESV) First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior

Theme: Peace regardless of the election results

Scriptures Studied: the Book of 1 Peter; Romans 13:7; Proverbs 21:1; Psalm 139:16; Matthew 22:37; Philippians 1:6; Romans 8:29; 1 Thessalonians 5:24; Philippians 2:13; Colossians 3:23-24; Mark 12:31 ; Matthew 5:44; Matthew 28:19; Romans 1:16

Biblical Examples of God Using “Pagan” Rulers for His Purpose:

Points to note:

Episode Points:

  • Christians are always in exile. It’s just a matter of how friendly the context remains.
  • We are to live Godly lives no matter who God set over the affairs of men.
  • God asks us to pray for rulers.
  • God asks us to disobey rulers when they ask us to disobey Him.

How can a Christian live Godly in a country?

  1. Loving God Completely
  2. Growing in obedience to God
  3. Doing your work well
  4. Loving your neighbor
  5. Praying for your enemy
  6. Serving the Gospel
  7. When necessary standing against unjust governmental demands

Recognize the Following:

  • We are awaiting the heavenly city; the new heavens and the new earth. This is not our home.  We are exiles and sojourners along with the audience of 1 Peter.
  • We need to remember in the midst of our exile, that God is going to use some people we might disagree with. He’s going to use some people who might be pagans in our eyes.
  • We have a great opportunity, Christians, whenever we know the election results to display that our ultimate hope is not in the Oval Office, but in the Throne Room of Heaven and that we have peace that God is going to use this man for His purposes.
