Traffic signs. Stop signs. Speed limit signs.
I know we don’t like to be warned but sometimes we need a warning!
We need a yield signs in life so we don’t crash into something.

Today we have 3 chapters in Kings with very important warnings for God’s people. They may be dark but so is the cost of compromise.

The book of First and Second Kings is basically one long speed limit sign: don’t do these things and you will be blessed; do theses things and you will be stressed.

My question for you is, “Are you all in with God?” Because there’s no more miserable person on the planet than someone who is half in with God. You’re not supposed to live like this Church! And the time short.

Let’s dig in to God’s Word and find out how to experience real peace and blessings.

Kings 1 & 2 Facts:

• Author: Unkown
• Genre: Narrative History (400 years).

Theological History of Kings 1 & 2:

• Begins with David’s end (970 bc), Solomon’s building and ends with national devastation – exile to Babylon (561 bc).
• Good and Evil kings.
• Each king has an epitaph… did they follow the Lord or not?
• True and False Prophets abound.
• God rules all nations, not just Israel.
• The Main Theme: There is ONE God in Israel.

Points to Note:

• A repeated reminder – at this time, Israel NEEDS a TRUE King.
• Compromise comes with a cost
• Are you ALL IN with God?

Pastoral Thoughts:

1. In spite of our waywardness, God’s promises are sure.
2. A nation removed from God’s voice is a nation removed from prosperity.

Questions to Consider:

1. Are you putting God first in your life?
2. What idols do you need to expel from your life?
3. Are you living in a state of comfortable Christianity?
4. Are you ready for action and prepared for Jesus’ near return?
5. Are you activated in the midst of these wicked times to prepare the way of the Lord?

Challenge:

Read the Word of God daily, seek Him, and fast and pray for revival.
