Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Where is it leading us?

The 1963 “I Have a Dream” speech was one of the most defining moments in the American Civil Rights Movement. Today, we have DEI infiltrating every area of our lives. Your employer may have even required you to take a class on it, and your children are being taught lessons filled with it!

In this thought-provoking episode, we delve into the complex world of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) through a Christian lens. Join us as we navigate the landscape of privilege, social justice initiatives, and biblical perspectives on these matters.

Is DEI good?
How should Christians feel about DEI?
Is DEI Biblical?
Do Christians have privilege?
Is DEI what Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. had in mind when he gave his iconic speech?

“This world is a comedy to those that think, a tragedy to those that feel.” ~ Horace Walpole

Starting with reflections on Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.’s iconic “I Have a Dream” speech, we scrutinize the current state of DEI initiatives permeating various sectors, including the recent developments within the FAA and their implications.

Key points include:

  • Analyzing the impact of DEI on United Airlines, including revelations about CEO Scott Kirby.
  • Unveiling the forces behind DEI movements in America and exploring diverse viewpoints, such as those articulated by Rob Schneider.
  • Discussing the notion of privilege, as defined by Johns Hopkins, and its relevance to Christians.
  • Examining the Christian response to diversity and social justice issues.
  • Addressing societal challenges, including immigration policies and controversial medical practices, such as gender-affirming care and the use of puberty blockers.

As we navigate through these topics, we invite viewers to critically reflect on their own beliefs, values, and roles within the broader discourse on diversity and social justice.

Join us for an exploration of DEI from a Christian perspective, where faith intersects with contemporary social issues. Don’t miss out on this engaging dialogue that seeks to deepen our understanding of inclusion and justice in today’s world.

Questions to Consider:

  1. Reflecting on Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.’s emphasis on character and content of one’s character rather than the color of their skin, do you believe that contemporary DEI initiatives align with King’s vision?
  2. What is a Christian’s “privilege” in Christ?
